Step 2. Enter your Name and email address and also create a password.
Note: You must use your true name (legal name) when creating your LinkedIn account. Company names, nicknames and pseudonyms are not accepted.
Use your personal email address. This is the email address via which Linkedin can contact you. The official company, office or work email addresses are not accepted.
Step 3. Select your country/region and primary language.

Step 5. Indicate whether you are a student or not by clicking the yes or no box provided and type in your Job title and the name of the company you work for in the text box provided and click next.

Note: You can create a LinkedIn profile with your Google login details or Apple ID. Linkedin sign-up with Google or Apple does not require creating a Linkedin account password.
Step 7. Once you have completed your profile, you can connect with other LinkedIn members.
Note: Similar to other social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram, you can create a business page on LinkedIn. Creating multiple Linkedin accounts and profiles is not allowed.
How to Create a LinkedIn Profile
It is not enough to create a LinkedIn account you need to personalise your profile. To personalize your Linkedin profile follow the steps below:
Step 1. Select an account personalization option. The options are
- Finding a job
- Building professional network
- Stay up to date with a particular industry
- Stay in touch with your contacts

Once you select any option above, you will be prompted to verify the email address associated with your LinkedIn account.
Step 2. Check your email. This is the email you used when signing up for LinkedIn.

Step 5. Select LinkedIn channels to follow. You can skip this option but it determines the type of information you see on your LinkedIn home page.
Step 6. Select Linkedin profiles to follow. The information posted on the Linkedin profiles you follow will also be visible on your page.
